We now have the
applications available online at the chamberpot gallery website. we have changed the venue from a yearly exhibit to a semi permanent exhibit (that is until the painting sells or is removed after a year if the artist so wishes). the theme of the exhibit is "Yellow Springs". It doesn't have to be a painting of course, it could be a photograph printed onto canvas, collage, or something quilted and attached to the canvas. For those who are new or unfamiliar with the Gallery it is located in the bathrooms of the train station in Yellow Springs and is curated by Nancy Mellon and Corrine Bayraktaroglu and sponsored by the Yellow Springs Arts Council. Our gallery has been featured in various international and national newspapers, such as the NYT, CNN, Kuwait Times, China Daily to name a few, as well as published and website travel guides. It has also been listed as “10 of the world’s unique bathrooms. Each painting can be sold on the condition the artist replaces it with the same size canvas preferably before the previous painting is taken down during the 2009-2010 exhibit period. Inside each bathroom there will be a posted sheet with a picture of the artists painting, price, title and name of artist. Visitors will be directed to the office for sale info and to view the ChamberPot Gallery Books. All sales are handled by the artist themselves.
Hope some of you will consider submitting something :)
