FOLKSCHOOL meetings are the 4th Thursday of every month.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
Location: Carolion's place, 1700 Spillan Rd.
We'll set some goals and begin planning for upcoming events:
1. Library Program
2. Street Fair
3. Next folkshop
Meeting over by 8:30. Folks are welcome to stay longer - bring an instrument and jam.
Folkschool activities & events this winter/early spring:
~ Children's folk music class, Thursday afternoons, Jan-Feb-Mar: storytelling, singing with guitar, lummi sticks, body rhythms, chimalongs, playparty dancing
~ Folkschool musicians at the library, 3rd Thursdays program in March - Old-time tunes, with audience playing spoons and singing along on choruses; children playing chimalong for one number.
UPCOMING MEETING - Thursday, April 23, 7 p.m.: We'll discuss summer possibilities like old-time music jams, folk theater, school and library artisan demonstrations, and the next big folkschool event, scheduled for October 23-24.
If you come early, bring potluck.
There will be birthday cake.
If you stay late, bring instruments and jam.
