Folk Artisans/Fine Craftspeople & Other Teacher Folk Wanted ~ OCTOBER ~
Heart of Joy Folkschool's first FOLKSHOP is coming up (Oct.17-19 at the O.E.C.) and we're looking for folk artists who have a desire to pass their skills on to others, or who know of other artisans and craftspeople. The Folkshop is to be a living history event, based on the lifeways, events, and discussions of the mid-1800's, around the time of Yellow Springs' founding.
There are many fine people already on board and preparing to share their skills, but we need a good healthy list of people we can call on for the next folkshop, and the ones after that. btw I've got a washtub bass and some jugs - we'll be pulling together a pickup band for the playparty old-timey dancing during the folkshop - Let your musician friends know, and those who wanna be / wanna try old-timey music, there will be plenty of opportunity to sit in. Spoon players - join right in.
